ecoGENESIS is an environmental consulting business founded on the principles of ecological care and stewardship. The company’s primary focus lies in ecosystem restoration, particularly in projects related to wetland mitigation and habitat restoration in both tidal and freshwater environments. Its expertise extends to various areas, such as resiliency projects, infrastructure offsets, wetland habitat offset, species offsets, and grant-funded restoration projects.

“Being a small, women-owned business, we understand the meaning of value and the importance of providing high-quality, professional services at an affordable price. We are committed to finding progressive, innovative, and sustainable solutions to difficult, systemic ecological and environmental challenges,” says Pamela Fetterman, founder and principal scientist of ecoGENESIS. “This is what enables us to handle substantial. large projects despite our size.”

Fetterman is a prominent figure in environmental and ecological restoration, management, and regulation. With extensive experience on both sides of the permitting process, spanning the public and private sectors, she drives clients through the intricate pathways of federal, state, and local wetland mitigation banking, environmental permitting, and local development review regulations.

When engaging in mitigation or long-term restoration projects, our aim is to craft solutions that gradually become self-sustaining over time rather than regressing. This often necessitates additional initial care and attention, such as employing higher planting densities or employing a blend of strategies aimed at fostering quicker system recovery or establishment

ecoGENESIS is backed by a small but efficient in-house team. It comprises part-time GIS professionals, meticulously selected highly skilled 1099 subcontractors, and scientific and engineering experts. The team has the capability to navigate through permitting obstacles to realize successful, holistic landscape restoration projects, covering a spectrum of components like streams, aquatic habitats, wetlands, and upland areas. A prime example is ecoGENESIS’ current leadership in the wetland delineation and mitigation design aspects for a large 9 billion gpd reservoir in Southwest Florida, and assistance in navigating through changing definitions of Federal Waters of the United States as a result of the EPA vs Sackett Supreme Court ruling.
“When engaging in mitigation or long-term restoration projects, our aim is to craft solutions that become self-sustaining over time rather than regressing. This often necessitates additional initial care and attention, and employing strategies such as higher planting densities or a blend of restoration techniques aimed at fostering quicker system recovery or establishment,” says Fetterman.

ecoGENESIS, unlike other small firms, transcends the boundaries to serve its diverse client base. Its adoption of GIS technology throughout their operations is a testament to it. At the heart of the company lies its adherence to its clients, including wetland mitigation bankers, national and international consulting firms, developers, energy providers, local governments, non-governmental organizations, and other regulated industries. Regardless of the public or private sector, ecoGENESIS’ allegiance to its clients is apparent through various successful projects where distinct solutions are designed to mitigate potential liabilities.

On a continuous journey to foster harmonious coexistence between humanity and the environment, ecoGENESIS transcends boundaries to serve diverse clients, leaving a positive impact through successful and tailored ecological solutions.
